The Fleuve is a breed of horse that cane from Senegal of Western Africa. The Fouta is also a similar breed that came from Senegal and they both shared their ancestry with the barb horses. It is believed by horse experts that the Fleuve was a result of cross breeding between the barb horses and the local pony breed. This horse can be used for light work like basic farming activities and is also known by the name of Cheval Du fleuve. The fleuve is also of French origin and that is why the name sounds French.
