The Karabakh horse is also called the Karabakh and came from the Azerbaijan region, Armenia. It is basically a mountain steppe horse meant for riding and racing. The horse is known to have a good temperament and amazing speed. They can run about 1000 meters in one minute. The breed could be a result of cross breeding from the Akhal teke and the Turkmene horses. The other possible blood line it could carry are t he Persian, kabardin and the Arabian horse. However it is very uncommon to find a Karabakh as there are less than 1000 horses left in the world. They are close to extinction and breeders are trying their best to preserve them.
