While, just a century ago, horses were used for many kinds of activities such as farming, riding, and of course for their meat. Today, their use in modern day life is pretty limited. They are mostly used in competitions and horse events. Only in a few places are they used like they were used in earlier times … for farm work. Machination has definitely removed the need for horse extensively. As a result many horse breeds have simply disappeared. While most of the well-known breeds are from Europe, a few from other parts of the world are known as extensively. One such well-known breed is the Mangalarga.
The Mangalarga horse breed originates from Brazil. This breed was developed in the 19th century. It has many varieties in it for example the Marchador and Paulisto. The Paulisto variety of this breed is lighter and is a very recent development.
The horse has an arched neck, well-defined withers, deep chest, and muscular back. It has sloping shoulders.
Owners of this horse breed will find it to be intelligent and also docile. It can be easily trained and also taught to carry out tasks as required. It has an accelerated gait which is also very regular. This gait is quite unusual because here the horse moves its feet laterally alternatively and diagonally. The result of this is that the rider has a very smooth and comfortable ride. In horse events and horse competitions, this breed will show desired performance levels and expected results.
This horse breed is well-known for giving the best performance in horse events and competitions. It is not just present in Brazil, but has been exported to other countries like the United States, Germany, Spain, Italy and Many Latin American Countries.
