The Morab horse was initially developed by crossing the Morgan and the Arabian horse breeds. Thus it gets the name ‘Morab’. The Morab horses were at the beginning bred during the 1800’s. The Morgan and the Arabian horses were cross-bred if there was no chance of obtaining pure-blood Morgans and the cross-breed that was obtained were popularly known as Morab horses. However the Morab horses has principally used to develop other horse breeds and not really for its individual value. The Morab Registry can be obtained to a Morab horse only if it is of Morgan and Arabian breeding and also if has 75% and 25% of both the breeds.
The Morab horses are a wonderful breed as they are resulted from two greatly attractive and brilliant breed of horses. The Morab horses inherit the great elegance of an Arabian horse and an excellent structure and awareness of a Morgan horse. The Morab horses are extremely clever and friendly and thus act as a very good family horse and are also used in skillful horse shows. They have a great stamina and are used in Trail, Driving, endurance riding, Huntseat, Dressage and Saddleseat. The Morab horses are also a great help for farmers.
The Morab horses have a large and neat head and their neck is normally long and hefty yet not in excess. They have long and strong shoulders and their back is comparatively short but tough. The Morab horses come in more or less all the coats. They at times have White markings on their face and legs. Usually they are of black, bay, grey and chestnut colors. But dun, palomino and buckskin coats are also proving to be very famous at present. Due to the wide range of colors available people who wish to own Morabs are now getting much option.
