The Xilingol in essence is a Mongolian horse and it came somewhere from the central and the inner parts of Mongolia. Mongolian horses have always had the reputation for their fine qualities and have been categorized as hot blooded horses that are ideal for warfare. The Mongolian horses mostly looked like studs equivalent to that of the Arabian horses and also had a royal posture. Similarly the Mongolian horses displayed the same qualities such as an Arabian horse even though they did not bear any resemblance to each other. However the Xilingol is a warm blooded horse which is light like the draft horse and can be used well for riding purposes.
The Xilingol was mainly developed by the Russians in the 1960’s as they found great use for this breed of horse. The Xilingol was used to breed with the Russian thorough bred and today you find many blood lines mixed with the Xilingol. Some of the breeds that were bred along with the Xilingol were Akhal teke, the Chinese Mongolian and the Sanhe. Sometimes you even find the Xilingol sharing qualities with the kabarda and Don breeding characteristics. You find the Xilingol in all solid colors like black, brown and deeper shades of brown and the horse stands 15.2 hands tall in horse terms.
Some horse experts even claim that the Xilingol has the classic qualities of the wild horse and can be one of the more modern species that has evolved in time. However today the Xilingol is used for many purposes such as riding, farming and even dressage shows which are increasingly popular in the horse world. Their light weight and easy maintenance makes them ideal for such activities. They also are an even tempered horse which makes them somewhat like a draft horse.
